With construction work on Main Street twp-thirds complete, our town will have a new look early 2010. Sidewalks, crosswalks, drainage, curbing, and landscaping were completed on the section of Main Street and Third Street to Second.

A planned 22 street lamps with electrical outlets will be added to improve the curb appeal. Trees and green plants line the area to enhance the Main Street project.

Work is on schedule and is to be completed on time. Prairie Construction have made this construction process a walk in the park. They have made efforts to keep all businesses open and entrances accessible to customers with minimum inconvenience.

Overall improvements will include replacement of existing sidewalks, new handicapped accessible sidewalks, pedestrian crosswalks at intersections, landscaping, irrigation, new street lamps and electrical outlets.

The key to this successful project has been communication. Communication with the businesses and the engineers. Mayor Michael James said, "the streetscape is very inviting and pleasant, and when completed it will be an asset to the community."
